The assortment ranges from the current daily newspaper, the exciting paperback or an exclusive cigar to the manufactory coffee specialty, cold and warm meals to original gifts. And the Group's branches at train stations and airports are open for a particularly long time. With more than 350 retail stores, the Dr. Eckert is now one of the German market leaders in the main product ranges of press, books, tobacco products, convenience, lottery / totes and postal services. The company currently employs more than 1440 people and achieved net annual sales of around 220 million euros in 2018. Torsten Löffler has been the sole managing director of the group since September 2013. Dr. Adam-Claus Eckert has taken over the chairmanship of the supervisory board. The three pillars of the company are a product range in line with the market, a modern store concept and the use of qualified staff. The principle of promoting personal responsibility applies to the training of sales staff in order to create a climate of efficient cooperation. The continuous training of employees and the further development of service and consulting skills are indispensable for the company's success, as is fair, mutual success-oriented cooperation with trading partners. The training of young people in state-recognized professions is particularly encouraged. The company, which is based in Berlin and has a further administrative location in Stuttgart, is a "five-star employer". The Dr. Eckert, for example, achieved top placements several times in the “Berlin's Best Employer” competition. In 2013 she was awarded the FUTURUM sales prize for “Best Instructor”.
